The Exchange in recent years has transformed into a Gawler institution of good times, becoming the centre point of celebrations and events in the town.
Murray’s BBQ and Bar offers a unique dining experience in a modern yet rustic bar and bistro setting, our sports bar is the perfect little spot for casual get togethers and small celebrations and our roofgarden / deck area is our new hero with beautiful open air panoramic surrounds, a completely retractable roof and big screen TV.

Our spaces
MURRAY’S BBQ & BAR
Known as one of the Northern Suburbs premier dining areas, it’s design withholds the natural characteristics of our heritage listed.
Timber pillars, natural brick walls and industrial lighting surround Murray’s with a full staffed bar, open gas lit fire, air conditioning, feature wood cladding, a subway tile bar and brass beer features really add another element to it’s style.
Natural light from our skylight shines upon our floor feature, with an old motorbike placed in the floor with a glass top so people can walk over it and have a look, a feature from our venues former days of being a motorbike store.
With 3 big screens complete with HDMI inputs for presentations, nightlife music systems running playlists that are tailor built to suit whatever event.
Available to groups of up to 120 guests cocktail style or 70 guests sit down.
SPORTS BAR
The Exchange Sports Bar is a rustic, yet modern nod to the sporting community of Gawler.
The internal sports bar features a fully staffed bar, fireplace, air-conditioning, big screens, timber wall panelling forged from a local basketball court, lockers on the front of the bar named with sporting icons from the local area, plus plenty of other memorabilia around the place too.
This space lends itself to casual stand up celebrations with it’s large bar area, fireplace and dance floor area with state of the art AV equipment and lighting.
Available to groups of up to 60 guests cocktail style only.
ROOF GARDEN
One of SA’s premier spaces overlooking Pioneer Park with a fully staffed bar.
Our most recently renovated area of the hotel is our Roofgarden! With stunning open air panoramic views of the park and a completely weather proof, retractable roof. We consider this area our biggest asset.
Just upstairs from our deck area, the roof garden boasts it’s own bar, wood fired pizza oven, giant LED screen, heaters and mist fan to make it the perfect temperature all year around.
